| Freshman downed by Vikings, 22-6 |
![]() Cathy Schram September 9, 2009 The Novi Freshman Football team went on the road to face Walled Lake Central on Wednesday, September 2nd. The team came up short, falling to the Vikings 22 -6. The Vikings got off to a quick start scoring the first time they had the ball to make it 6 -0. After several back and forth possessions Central put together another long scoring drive making it 14 – 0. Novi’s defense stopped Central on their next possession with key tackles from Jon Mencer and Robbie Deigton. In the second Quarter, the Wildcat defense stayed tough with great tackles from Gentry Oden and Sparsh Mengi. Just before the half, Central put together a long scoring drive making it 22 – 0 at the break. In the second half the Wildcats showed signs of life with long runs from Michael Smith and Grant Wheeler. Novi scored on a terrific 32 yard run by Tre Cadwell to make it 22 – 6 ending the scoring. The freshman Wildcats tried valiantly to come back but could not get into the end zone again. The defense shut out the Vikings in the second half with a great defensive effort. The Freshman teams next game is September 10th at home. |
