| Freshmen Win Opener |
![]() Cathy Schramm August 29, 2009 Novi High School’s freshman football team got off to a great start with a 15 – 0 win over Milford on August 27th at home. Coach Chris Laney’s team played a solid first game that featured great plays on both sides of the ball. Novi got the scoring started in the first half on a Blake Boron to Rob Armiak touchdown pass that shredded the Milford defense. Just before halftime Novi’s defense got the chance to score with Matt Forche tackling the Milford quarterback in the end zone for a safety. In the second half the Novi defense continued to stop the Mavericks. Late in the third quarter the Novi offense put a great drive together that was capped off with a Michael Smith touchdown run. Craig Latham added the extra point and Novi took a 15 – 0 lead which would prevail. After the game Coach Laney was pleased with the team’s first effort and was optimistic about the rest of the season. |
